Role and Responsibilities
As the Move-In Coordinator, Sarah serves as the primary point of contact for new residents moving into The Commons, ensuring a smooth transition into our community and their new home.
Sarah manages every aspect of the move-in process, providing guidance at each step, from coordinating apartment home customizations like paint colors, flooring, cabinetry and countertops to taking measurements and advising on furniture placement. “I look forward to making residents’ transition into their new home as smooth as possible, supporting them with preparations and settling them into our community so they feel comfortable and welcomed,” shares Sarah.
Industry Experience
Sarah recently completed a three-month internship at another continuing care retirement community (CCRC), where she gained valuable insights into long-term care.
Passion for Senior Care
“I love working with everyone in the community and listening to the stories from their lives,” she shared. These connections fuel her passion for making a positive impact in the lives of residents. Throughout her studies, Sarah felt a strong pull toward long-term care, driven by a passion for supporting individuals at every stage of life. She believes it is especially meaningful to help residents feel comfortable and at home during the later part of their lives, and she is deeply committed to enhancing their quality of life in any way she can.
Milestones
Sarah graduated from James Madison University with a major in Health Services Administration and a minor in General Business.
Personal Interests
Sarah recently moved to Boston, a city she always loved visiting as a child and is excited to now call it home. Since arriving, Sarah has enjoyed attending sporting events, meeting new people, and exploring the city. Originally from Virginia, she always dreamed of living in a vibrant place like Boston.
