Elida Zepeda
Traditional Care Director Elida Zepeda says her grandmothers inspired her work in the senior living industry.
“My grandmothers mean the world to me,” she says. “Treating seniors with dignity is honoring them.”
Elida says she has her job is rewarding and gives her life purpose. The best part, she says, is having a connection with residents and learning more about them and their families, saying, “That is something I wouldn’t change for anything.”
Elida worked in customer service for about ten years in her native Guatemala before coming to the U.S. In 2015 she was hired as an activities assistant in a nursing home.
She joined the Commons in 2019 as the programming coordinator for our Memory Care neighborhood and was named Traditional Care Director for Assisted Living in late 2022.
In her off-hours, Elida enjoys spending time with her family and walking with her dog, Casper.
She began a nursing program last January and expects to complete her studies by December 2023.
