Tyra Hargrove

IT Specialist Tyra Hargrove has a deep-rooted passion for educating others about technology and solving tech problems. She found her niche at The Commons, where she assists residents in making the most of their electronic devices.

“I joined the senior living industry to help introduce and teach technology,” she says. “I enjoy troubleshooting the problems residents are having with their devices. Fixing something that has been stressing someone out for some time gives me great satisfaction.”

Before joining The Commons, Tyra, a Rhode Island College graduate, worked as a private contractor for the Air Force.

At The Commons, her role encompasses a broad range of tech support, from aiding residents and staff with their digital devices to updating security systems and revitalizing a program to streamline meal ordering.

She says she loves getting to know the residents and their different personalities. “Everyone has been very kind and welcoming,” she adds.

When she’s not working, Tyra likes to spend time with her friends and family, travel and watch Celtics games.
