The Commons is pleased to announce the promotion of Aimee Lahtinen, RN, WCC, to Director of Nursing. In this new role, Aimee will oversee the Sub-Acute Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing teams. Our Sub-Acute Rehabilitation neighborhood serves both residents and patients admitted from local hospitals. With a strong focus on personalized care, we are committed to supporting each individual’s recovery and well-being, whether for short-term rehabilitation or long-term skilled nursing care.

A Commitment to Quality Care

Aimee has been a valued member of The Commons since 2016, bringing over 30 years of experience in healthcare. In 2023, she earned her wound care certification from the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy. Throughout her career, she has worked in various rehabilitation settings, gaining both clinical expertise and leadership experience in delivering high-quality care.

Expertise in Nursing Leadership

Aimee’s nursing career began 24 years ago as an LPN. After three years, she was promoted to Unit Manager and over the next 21 years, she excelled in leadership roles. For the past 8 years, she has served as Unit Manager/Assistant Director of Nursing her in our community, where her expertise in nursing leadership has been instrumental in shaping the quality of care provided to residents.

Leading with Compassion and Care

As Director of Nursing, Aimee will be responsible for managing, training and supporting the nursing staff. She will also collaborate with physicians, family members and external providers to ensure coordinated, compassionate care for all residents.

Personal Passion for Well-Being

Outside of her professional role, Aimee enjoys the tranquility of Western Massachusetts, where she spends time hiking, fishing and golfing. She values quality time with her family, including her husband, Randy and their children and grandchildren.
