The Commons has earned U.S. News & World Report’s prestigious “high performing” designation for short-term rehabilitation. This recognition places The Commons among the top 13 percent of communities in Massachusetts to achieve this distinction.

A Commitment to Excellence

This honor highlights our community’s dedication to delivering exceptional care. Key factors in the recognition include excellence in safety, management, staffing and patient outcomes, ensuring residents receive the highest quality of support during their recovery.

“Our compassionate team is at the heart of our recognition from U.S. News & World Report,” said Skilled Nursing Administrator Laurie Roberto. “We are humbled by their dedication, the opportunity to provide excellent care every day, and this meaningful distinction.”

Rigorous Evaluation Standards

More than 15,000 centers nationwide were evaluated for this year’s awards, which analyze the consistency of registered nurse staffing, the use of antipsychotic drugs, and success in preventing emergency room and hospital visits. Short-term rehabilitation ratings further assess the prevention of falls and serious infections, and residents’ ability to return home.

These rankings are based on data submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Earlier this year, The Commons also received a five-star rating from CMS, reinforcing its position as a leader in senior care.

A Premier New England Community

The Commons has also earned recognition as a Boston Magazine 2024 Top Senior Living Community, underscoring our exceptional standards. As a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), our community provides a full continuum of care, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Mind & Memory Care, Sub-Acute Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing. We offer a range of premium services to support residents in living well and achieving their health and wellness goals.

Our Sub-Acute Rehabilitation neighborhood is a standout, offering amenities such as a large gym, spacious rooms, spa services and a unique culinary experience. With dedicated dietitians and fine dining chefs, the community ensures that dining is both nutritious and enjoyable.
