The Commons Named a Boston Magazine Top Senior Living Community

The Commons is proud to once again be named among Boston Magazine’s Top Senior Living Communities. Known for offering an unparalleled senior living lifestyle, The Commons provides meaningful experiences and the peace of mind that only a top Senior Living community can deliver. As a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), The Commons ensures that residents’ changing needs will always be met with award-winning care, all within a close-knit, vibrant community.
A Vibrant Community with Exceptional Care
“Our focus—our passion—is ensuring the highest, most enjoyable quality of life for our residents,” says Campus Executive Director Reynaldo LeBlanc. “But, really, it’s the residents themselves who bring so much to this community and make it a truly exceptional place to live.”
Resident Satisfaction: A Key to Top Senior Living Recognition
The feeling is mutual among residents, who cite their neighbors and associates among the best attributes of The Commons in recent resident surveys. One respondent notes that associates are, “responsive, caring, understanding and value your opinion and concerns. You definitely feel a part of the community from day one.” Another comments, “It feels like an extended family. We care about each other!”
Meeting the Criteria for Boston Magazine’s Top Senior Living List
To earn Boston Magazine’s Top Senior Living list, communities needed to meet certain criteria including positive federal ratings, online reviews and press or public perception. The Commons in Lincoln was included in the list in 2024 as well.
Looking Ahead: Sustainability and Expansion
With the future in mind, The Commons is undergoing a campus expansion that puts sustainability at the forefront and sets a new standard for senior living. The project consists of twenty-eight new units that are highly efficient and harmonious with the conservation land that surrounds the community. Many residents share their passion for the environment in shaping life at the commons—maintaining gardens, participating in a composting program and leading a Green Initiative Committee. The Commons recently converted to all electric mowers for landscaping and is conducting a decarbonization study to guide long-term planning.
A Community Invested in Legacy and Purpose
“Residents here are invested in the legacy they leave as individuals and as part of a larger community. It adds a sense of purpose to living and working at The Commons,” says LeBlanc.
